Mothers are the best lovers in the world

Motherhood has been described in several ways by many people – a vocation, a tireless act of heroism, a never-ending work.

But amid all these pedestal definitions of motherhood lies one reality – that mothers are lovers.

They have loved us not from the moment that the pregnancy test kit showed positive results but from the very moment that our mothers thought of bearing us in this world.

Mothers are the best lovers in the world because they love someone they haven’t seen yet. They take care of someone who they don’t know will take care of them in the manner that they have done so.

Mothers are the best lovers in the world because they bear wiping our stinky butts just to make sure that we will stay clean and smell fresh.

Mothers are the best lovers in the world because they do not need to hear words to be uttered to understand what it is that we need or want. They carry this trait up to the day they die which is why they pray every single day for us, their children, to always be happy. Because more than the psychological and emotional connection that we have with them, we once shared one body with our mother, one blood, one beat, one home.

Mothers are the best lovers in the world because no matter what we say, do, or think, they will always be there to back us up just so we remain happy and contented in this life.

Mothers are the best lovers in the world simply because theirs is the kind of love closest to unconditional love – love that does not judge, love that does not end.

So to all mothers out there, thank you for being the best lover in our life. Truly, your kind of love is what we will seek always.

May your lives be blessed and your love be returned to you tenfold.

Happy Mothers’ Day!
