UP Pep Squad 2014 UAAP Cheer Dance Competition

Depth and artistry. These two words define the UP Pep Squad.

The chosen cheer dance theme of equality can be chintzily interpreted. But the pep squad of University of the Philippines Diliman successfully delivered its advocacy of equality with an astounding, heart-pounding, tear-jerking performance that wowed everyone in the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

UP Pep Squad might not have won the championship in UAAP Season 77 Cheer Dance Competition. It has, however, won the hearts and respect of all (albeit bashers and scumbags) who saw the performance regardless of school affiliation and loyalty. That is what equality means after all: that no matter what race, gender, school, or nation, we are all human who deserve respect and who must respect others.

Thank you, UP Pep Squad (some members of which are former students. Congratulations Mai Mai Golingay, Maegan Cabrera, Patricia Manlapaz, Lara Limjap, Sarah Esguerra, and Capt. Audrey Muñoz!!!!) for that jaw-dropping and inspiring performance that underpinned the advocacy of equality for all.

Iisang Bangka Tayo! Respect others. Celebrate diversity.
