Identifying the best restaurant in a locality all boils down to one business: food quality.
Of course, all other elements that make any dining experience truly enjoyable are also important. But should any of these elements fall short, food will cover for it.
This is what I can say about what Trip Advisor rated as the number 1 local restaurant in Pagadian City: Yammy’s Seafood Grill.
I doubted at first the ratings and reviews in Trip Advisor as the list included three fast food chains. I thought at first that the list must be a joke. So, I had to eat again at Yammy’s Seafood Grill to see if this list is believable.
Yammy’s Grill is humbly located along Fajares Street. Its tiny nook in the city belies the enormity of its dishes not just in terms of size but in terms of quality as well.
When Bulalo, Crab Nilabog, and Seafood Carambola were served, I was flabbergasted by the size of the servings. When the waitress said that the dish servings are good for 2-4 persons, she wasn’t kidding.
And when I tasted each dish, I was floored by the richness of the taste. My taste buds and tummy were in Cloud 9.
In the two times that I dined in Yammy’s Seafood Grill, the place was teeming with locals. And that is truly one sure sign of the level of service and quality of food that this restaurant offers.
The place does not have local singers to entertain you. But, this gives you more time to sip, lick, and devour the dishes that you ordered.
This restaurant also needs more waiters and waitresses to keep up with the number of customers. But, with all the food that I ate night, raising my hand every once in a while to call the attention of the servers was good exercise.
Yammy’s Seafood Grill may not look as grand as Kamayan Sa Pagadian or Rodolfo’s Cuisine but the quality of the dishes they serve is the best that Pagadian City has to offer. For now, at least.
